Running after Jesus Event
Imagine what it would be like to have your heart, mind, soul, and strength so intent on knowing Jesus and following hard after Him that no thing, no circumstance, no person, and no fear could stop you! We All Start Somewhere
Dale Carnegie wisely observed that a person's name is to them the sweetest and most important sound in any language. The second sweetest, I submit, is the sound of an individual responding to this heartfelt directive: Tell me your story. We all have one. A story, that is. Some portions worthy of publication, others, well, not so much. We All Start Somewhere champions this magnificent truth: God sees you and me and has in fact been pursuing us before time ever began. We long for Him and follow after Him only as a result of His drawing us with divine abandon to Himself.
Not. So. Much.
What keeps you from following hard after Jesus? Hesitancy? Fear? Doubt? Lack of Discipline? Spiritual insecurity? Julie carefully examines multiple factors which hinders our all out pursuit.
Christian Women Who Think
Many women are anxious to increase their knowledge when it comes to prayer, Bible knowledge, and an overall understanding of how scriptural truth can shape and influence their lives in the midst of day-to-day living. Julie discusses effective and realistic ways to strengthen your faith as you seek to move "higher up and deeper in" with your relationship with Christ and the world around you.
Stalk Rot
It's a Western Illinois agriculture fact: if corn stalk roots grow shallow, rather than deep, there's going to be trouble when the predictable Midwest thunderstorms and winds come blowing through. So too our lives as women of faith. It's imperative we attend to the condition of our spiritual roots as we seek to become "rooted, established, and built up" in the essential doctrines of the Christian faith.
Live. Move. Be.
Urging women to enjoy Christ and apply His reality in all the areas of their life instead of leaving Him at church or the latest conference or bible study group, Julie stresses that Christ is alive in all the areas of our lives--our artistic interests, the beauty of nature, diversity of food, relationships, employment, sexuality, and intellectual pursuits. Using the metaphor of a child's "shape ball," she illustrates how all our experience can and do fit into our experience of God--because "in Him we live and move and have our being."
Scandalous Grace for the Scorched Soul
Isaiah 58:11, "The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your desire in your scorched places." It's all about recognizing the scorched places of your life; those dry, burnt, places of disappointment, failure, insecurity, and often times, sin & shame. It's recognizing, owning up to, and then allowing God to saturate your life with the refreshing, renewing, and restorative power of divine grace. And once that happens? Watch out! For all you'll want to do is tell other bent, broken, and bedraggled, women what is possible through scandalous divine grace.
Radical Forgiveness
What does it mean to really forgive those who have hurt you? To forgive yourself for the dumb and painfully sinful things you've done? Or to let go of bitter feelings towards God for what He has (or seemingly hasn't) done? Radical Forgiveness will help you understand personally the profound, life-changing power of forgiveness.
The Blessed Hope
As a little girl, my Grandma Bonnie would periodically ask, "Julie Ann, are you looking forward to the Blessed Hope? Are you ready to meet Jesus when His trumpet blows?" Year after year, and decade after decade, she poured within me the hope of His return. Now, decades later and "End of Days" movie releases just keep multiplying in theaters as the latest news updates out of Israel and Russia all but shout, "Something is UP!" Julie will pour out the hope of His certain return and challenge you to live and believe as if it could happen at any moment.
